Program Overview
This programme trains professionals to guarantee a clean, safe, and dignified care environment. It covers all the pillars of WASH in health facilities: potable water supply, healthcare waste management, hand and surface hygiene, and sanitation, in order to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) and strengthen the quality of services.
Learning Objectives
Understand WHO WASH and infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
Implement protocols for sorting, collecting, transporting, and disposing of biomedical waste.
Ensure water management, latrine maintenance, and vector control in care settings.
Apply and enforce the 5 moments of hand hygiene and decontamination techniques.
Develop a WASH improvement plan and train cleaning staff.
