Research Interests
Dr. Gerard Christian Kuotu is a Cameroonian physician and public health specialist (MD, MPH, MSc) working at the intersection of epidemiology, public health informatics, digital health, and data science. He serves as a Public Health Informatics Fellow with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
His research applies epidemiological methods and machine learning to pressing health challenges across West and Central Africa, spanning disease surveillance, immunization coverage, tuberculosis prognosis, maternal and child health, and outbreak response. He has contributed to international field investigations, including a 2025 U.S. CDC MMWR report on the response to a travel-associated case of Lassa fever.
He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD), two Master of Public Health degrees (MPH), and a Master of Science (MSc), with postgraduate training linked to Aix-Marseille University in France.
